Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital Selects Clinical Informatics Provider Epro as Digital Partner

  • Epro will roll out its clinical software, including speech recognition and clinical documentation, to improve the Hospital’s efficiency
  • The new solution will help to improve inpatient and outpatient flow and address documentation backlog

Leading healthcare informatics provider Epro has been selected by the Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital (LHCH) to implement its clinically-focused digital platform.

The Epro technology supports end-to-end outpatient management, inpatient flow, clinical correspondence, speech recognition, mobile access and integration with existing technology solutions.

LHCH proudly bears the torch for the digital transformation movement across healthcare in the UK. It has been accredited over recent years for its digital excellence, alongside having a longstanding history of investment in digital technology. It was one of the first Trusts nationally to pioneer the implementation of an Electronic Patient Record (EPR) in 2013.

Last year, the Hospital Trust was announced by then-Health Secretary Matt Hancock as one of the second wave of trusts welcomed on to the Digital Aspirant Programme (a national digital scheme to support NHS trusts to improve their digital maturity, enabling better health, better care, financial sustainability and better experiences for our staff and patients).

“We are incredibly excited to be a part of the LHCH digital transformation journey. When we first set out, our goal was to create a solution which provided better information more efficiently at the point of care,” says Jonathan Elliott, Managing Director of Epro: “and to be working alongside LHCH – which shares many of the same goals and values that we do – is an honour.”

Vishal Luther, Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist at Liverpool Heart & Chest Hospital commented: “As with many NHS services recovering from the pandemic, there is a backlog of administration. An effective speech recognition solution is likely to significantly reduce this burden, and improve the efficiency in the way we work in both outpatient and inpatient settings for the future.

“This is why the Epro platform was so impressive. The opportunity to incorporate speech recognition functionality into our outpatient clinics and our inpatient documentation is exciting. In addition, the staff members within EPRO were both affable and professional.”

Epro is one of the UK’s leading healthcare informatics providers, supporting the NHS with clinically focused solutions. Epro provides products and services that enable clinical efficiency and a better patient experience.
