Q: Hi Enrico, it’s lovely to meet you. Can you tell us a little bit about your role at Epro?
My role as the Business Unit Director at Epro means I lead the commercial element of the business and sit on the management team as well. The majority of my role is focused on growing our revenue within our client base, whilst ensuring our existing customers get the most out of our products and services. I like to think of Epro as problem solvers. We spend time with our clients understanding the issues and challenges they face, with the aim to help resolve them with innovative solutions.
Q: What would you say is the thing you enjoy most about your job?
One of the best parts of my role is having a hand in shaping the product and its development. We have a strong UK-based development team which we can tap into and help shape the product roadmap. Most of this is done in conjunction with our clients. In fact, a large part of our platform has been co-developed with the NHS over the years.
The role is varied, and each day brings something different, which I enjoy. It’s no secret that when you work with the NHS, there are a few challenges you have to overcome due to the ever-changing landscape. Helping the business and our clients navigate these changes is very exciting.
However, I think what I most enjoy about my role with Epro is spending time with clients. My role allows me to get out on-site and visit trusts, so doing this and seeing first-hand how we benefit both clinical staff and ultimately patients is the best part of the job for me!
Finally, it would be wrong of me not to mention the people that work at Epro! We have an excellent management team with lots of experience, and the product and development department are second to none. With the talent we have and our ability to be agile, it makes my role supporting our clients easier and very fulfilling!
Q: How did you decide to get into healthcare?
I started my career at Xerox, dedicating 17 years to various roles across different sectors. It wasn’t until I transitioned to a health-centric sales team that focused on healthcare that I discovered my passion for the field. Working with different trusts was particularly exciting because of the unique challenges each one presents in their digital journey – it’s very much the same nowadays too. Following that experience, I joined an EDM operation in the healthcare sector, where I spent a further two years. However, when the opportunity to join Epro came up I simply couldn’t say no! Healthcare affects all of us at some point or another. Working in this industry and being able to make an impact, regardless of how big or small, is the reason why I am so passionate about digital healthcare and the benefits (good) technology can bring.
Q: That’s fantastic. So, outside of work, what do you enjoy doing?
Outside of work, my world revolves around my family. I love going for family walks and doing things with them. There’s nothing better than being in the great outdoors with the family – although I don’t think the kids enjoy the walks as much as me!
We are massive foodies in my household, so we also love cooking at weekends. Maybe it’s due to our Italian roots, but we spend a lot of time sitting around the table and eating together. Personally, I am football mad and used to play at a semi-professional level. While I don’t play to that level anymore, I still love to pull the boots on and play some five-a-side when I can!
Q: Finally, what is one thing you would like readers to know about yourself or Epro that they might not know already?
For me, Epro is the NHS’s best-kept secret. What we’ve built here is a clinically designed platform that can really benefit healthcare organisations across the UK. The core advantage is our genuine ability to provide robust support to the NHS at a fraction of the cost compared to larger systems in the market. We consistently get feedback that our platform thinks like a clinician and helps improve clinical and administrative efficiency. Epro provides more than just technology; it’s a solution that significantly enhances workflows and efficiencies throughout the entire NHS. Our commitment to innovation and cost-effectiveness makes us a game-changer in the healthcare landscape.
