Marc Woby

Senior Project Manager

Q: Hi Marc, it’s lovely to meet you. Can you tell us a little bit about your role at Epro?

In my role as Senior Project Manager, my primary responsibilities revolve around project management activities. This includes overseeing the roll out of the Epro application to new customers, upgrades to our existing customers, and oversight of internal projects to improve our internal operation and ways of working. A crucial aspect of my role is to engage with customers, understand their challenges and requirements, and co-ordinate the various resources, capabilities and expertise within Epro into packages of work that deliver effective solutions for our customers.

Q: What would you say is the thing you enjoy most about your job?

It’s been mentioned a lot in these interviews recently, but the most enjoyable aspect of my job is the incredible team I work with. The people at Epro are so passionate and really care about the work we do. We are all driven by a shared commitment to support the NHS and this collective passion makes the workplace a really rewarding environment to be in.

Aside from the great team at Epro, I also get satisfaction from witnessing people in Trusts on the front line using our applications. We get a lot of feedback saying that Epro and the products we provide make a difference in healthcare. It’s inspiring to be part of a team dedicated to such a meaningful cause. Knowing that our efforts aren’t going to waste and the impact we are having is very gratifying. On a professional level, Epro is on a great trajectory, too. We are growing year on year, and it’s a really exciting time to be part of this great business.

Q: Did you have any prior experience in healthcare before joining Epro?

I actually began my career in civil engineering before spending a decade with a quality assurance organisation. So, when the opportunity to join Epro arose, I was stepping out of my comfort zone into a new area completely. This wasn’t an issue, though. I’ve always been passionate when it comes to getting out of my comfort zone, keen to learn, and enjoy taking on new challenges. Joining Epro and working within the healthcare sector was a nice change and it allowed me to bring new perspectives and contribute to the businesses growth.

Q. What was it about Epro that made you want to get involved?

What stood out was the quality of the product, so that was a real draw for me. The main thing that sold Epro to me, though, was my conversation with the MD, Jonathan. He spoke so highly about the business and was really passionate and genuine when talking to me. His leadership style and vision of Epro convinced me that this was the perfect role for me and an exciting opportunity to be part of.

Q: Outside of work, what do you enjoy doing?

Outside of work, I spend most of my time with my children. They certainly keep me busy taking them to their various activities. However, I wouldn’t swap spending quality time with them for anything! I’m a sociable person by nature, so I also love spending time with my friends when I can. I try to keep fit and maintain an active lifestyle too. I love going to the gym and cycling because they help me unwind.

Q: That’s great, Marc. Finally, what is one thing you would like readers to know about yourself or Epro that they might not know already?

While many people are familiar with Epro, there’s often a misconception about what we offer. People seem to think we are just a digital dictation solution, but we are so much more than that. The functionality available within the Epro application is very broad, and the Epro team has a real breadth of capabilities. In combination, this allows us to help our customers overcome complex challenges in an innovative and cost-effective manner. Epro is not a software provider operating within the healthcare sector, but a healthcare informatics provider with extensive clinical expertise and experience.
